The large precincts are dotted with buildings of national treasures such as the famous five-story pagoda (a symbol of ancient capital Nara), three-story pagoda, Tokondo and Hokuendo.

In the National Treasure Museum (Kokuhokan), you can always see the standing Asura, a national treasure and a most famous Budda statue in Japan. The Central Golden Hall was reconstructed in 2018. This is a well- known temple that was registered as a World Heritage in 1998. After visiting the Kofukuji temple, you can stroll in the nearby Nara Park, where 1,200 deers live.
