Red lacquer shrine illuminates the sky of Kyoto

The shrine of Heianjingu is reconstructed by the model of Chodo-in, which was in the Heian capital, with a 5/8 scale-down. The shrine garden, which is located further within the shrine, is a Japanese garden and national-designated site of scenic beauty with area of approximately 30,000 m2. It’s highly recommended to visit the weeping cherry blossom in the spring. “Festival of the Ages” which looks like an elegant scroll painting, is carried out on October 22 annually.
