Shoshazan Engyoji Temple was constructed in 966. Its 7 buildings and 8 Buddha statues are designated as national treasures. Furthermore, this temple is known to be the filming location feature in the Hollywood movie, ‘The Last Samurai’. From April to November, you will have the chance to try out some Buddhist vegetarian meals in the Juryoin Hall (reservation required).
