Built in 1898, the Kobe Kitano Art Museum is a former consulate of the United States until the Great Hanshin Earthquake in 1995. The contruction was reopened a year later as the Kobe Kitano Art Museum. The museum mainly displays the art of Nagata Moe, an illustrator and a writer of picture books.
