The Kyoto National Museum abundantly collects archaeological documents and antique art objects from Japan, China and oriental countries, and is proceeding in displaying, preserving, and researching cultural assets mainly from between the Heian and Edo period.
While you are there, be sure to stop by the Sanjusangen-do Temple nearby to take a closer look at the 1001 statues of Thousand Armed Kannon.
