It is a Neo-Renaissance-style building of historical significance built in the Taisho era, the time when operas and celebrity lectures flourished. Its magnificent appearance and refined interior design received high praise, making it one of the country’s important cultural properties. The light-up of the building until 23:00 makes it one of the most popular night view spots along the waterfront.
The basement first floor of the central hall includes an auditorium shop stocked with books on retro architecture and a French-Italian restaurant recently opened in 2015 called “”NAKANOSHIMA SOCIAL EAT AWAKE””. You may get overwhelmed by the cultural fragrance of the fashionable goods sold at the auditorium shop.
Additionally, there is a guided tour available (with surcharge) that will allow you to further enjoy the culture of Osaka.
