The Osaka-jo GOZABUNE(Osaka Castle Pleasure Boat)was first sailed in the spring of 2015. It is a handmade reproduction the ship illustrated in “Toyotomi-ki Osaka Zubyobu”, “Hououmaru”, the boat made for Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Japan’s second greatest unifier. In order to represent the gorgeous Azuchimomoyama period, approximately 3000 sheets of gold were used per boat. Marvel at Japan’s most impregnable stone walls of the East-Honmaru of Osaka Castle from the moat, you will surely be fascinated by its presence.
