The setting of The Tale of Genji, a time travel to the capital of the Heian period.

In the permanent exhibition room, a life-size ox cart, replicas of Heian period furnishings, and a miniature model of Rokujo-in, a vast shinden-zukuri building, aas well as a variety of visual and audio to introduce the “world of The Tale of Genji are on display. In the video theater, the movie “Hashihime” starring Kayoko Shiraishi will be shown. The museum also has a special exhibition room, a library, and a museum store.

 

<Theater show times> Every half hour starting at 9:30 AM and ending at 4:30 PM. Video length: 20 minutes
