The narrow stone paved street is lined with restaurants

Comprised of two narrow lanes stretching east to west, Hozenji Yokocho was made famous by Sakunosuke Oda’s novel Meoto Zenzai. The lanes are home to Hozenji Temple, a temple of the Pure Land sect of Buddhism, and the mossy Mizukake Fudo Buddha statue. The stone pavement, wet from sprinkling water, creates a unique atmosphere.
