Founded in AD 888. The Chief Abbot of Temple which was also called the Omuro Imperial Palace. Five-Storied Pagoda and Nio-mon, which are Important Cultural Properties, and Golden Hall, which is National Treasure, are built next to each other. Seated statue of Aizenmyoo and many other treasures are exhibited inside Reihokan Hall. 200 cherry trees called the Omuro-zakura are 2-meter height and famous for late-blooming within Kyoto.
