Try to haggle in Nihongo!
Venture a bit south of Namba to enjoy a stroll down a restaurateur’s paradise. Every shop on Douguyasuji is dedicated to kitchenware and the restaurant industry. You can browse to your heart’s delight down the tight aisles piled high with precariously stacked dishes, grab large quantities of pretty much anything at the wholesale supermarket and finally see where all those plastic food models come from! This area is great for those interested in the food industry but also for those looking for a unique souvenir like an embroidered apron or authentic restaurant banner. Visit earlier than later!
This is a street lined with specialty stores selling all sorts of cooking utensils, fixtures, sign-boards, or whatever else is needed to open a restaurant. Doguya-suji was originated from around 1882 when second-hand shops and general grocery stores began business one after another along the front approach to the shrine from Sennichimae in Hozenji to Tennoji Temple and Imamiya Ebisu Shrine. The miniature of the food sample is being popular for the souvenir.
